Ninja, also known as Tyler Blevins, mentioned in his post
“I’m grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups”
Tyler Blevins, also known as Ninja to his millions of online fans, revealed on Tuesday that he has skin cancer. Posting on X, Blevins, 32, who is the most followed person on Twitch, expressed his shock at the news. He learned about his diagnosis during a routine skin check with his dermatologist.
“There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful,” he wrote in the post. “It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages.”
He mentioned there was another dark spot near the mole, which had also been biopsied, and told that doctors:
“removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it.”
He encouraged his followers to have their skin examined.
“I’m grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups,” he said.
A spokesperson for Blevins did not respond right away to a request for comment.
