- Updated Instagram app but with no luck.

How To Add Payment Method On Instagram Promotion
Alright. So, let us jump directly to the steps to fix Instagram Add Payment Method Unexpected Error. Please follow each step carefully.
Method – 1 Install Facebook Ads Manager
- Go to Google Play Store or App Store to download Facebook Ads Manager application. Please note this is an official app by Facebook only. So, you need not worry about the security and reliability of this application.
- Once you have downloaded Facebook Ads Manager, launch the app. This will ask you to login. Put the username and password of your Facebook account that you have linked with your Instagram.
- After login, tap on the 3 horizontal lines (menu icon) on the top left of the app.
- Now, tap on Billing option.
- Tap on Payment Methods option.
- Here, either add a credit card, debit card, or link your PayPal account.
- In case of credit or debit card, put your card details and tap on Save Card. That’s it. You need not make any payments in this app.
- Now, go back to your Instagram account. Start creating the promotion once again and reach to the add payment method page where you were getting error previously.
- This time, you will see the payment method that you had added in Facebook Ads Manager app getting reflected in your Instagram account.
- Just tap on this payment method to proceed further for completing your promotion.
Method – 2 Suggested By Our Active User Janik
HI all, Had the exact same problem and even the fix in this post unfortunately didn’t work for me. However I managed to fix it, this is how it worked for me
- Go to your profile and hit the navigation i the top right corner
- Click “Orders & Payments”
- Click “Orders for Promotions”
- If there are any payment methods linked, delete them
- Close the app and restart it
- Repeat step 1-3 and add the credit card details (on the verification page the same error will occur) after that close the app and restart it
- Repeat step 1-3 and in the overview tap the credit card you just added
- Click “Verify card” from the menu a the bottom that just opened
- Verify you card with your CCV, afterwards a page will load that will confirm the verification. Close the app and restart it
You should be good to go now
