The Videogame Everyone Should Try

RobertBy Robert18th December 20255 Mins Read

Whether you are a videogame aficionado or someone who has always thought gaming is a waste of time, there is one game you should definitely experience, regardless of your gaming background.

Looking at the rather dull title, Hades, the Greek god of the underworld, you might never guess you are staring at one of the most complex videogames ever created.

The Videogame Everyone Should Try

So, what makes this game so compelling? In the following paragraphs you will find out how a game with the size of a meager 10 gigabytes managed to surpass every other big-budget AAA game and redefine a genre many have thought oldschool.

If this doesn’t sound impressive enough, let’s not forget to mention that your 15 year old rig could run this game with buttery smooth fps.

Redefining a Genre

Hades, primarily, is what you would call a roguelike. What does this mean exactly? The simplest way of describing this genre is that if your character dies, there’s no checkpoint to go back to, no saved game, you restart everything from the very beginning and then you try again.

You learn from your previous mistakes pretty much like your experience at Royalsea Casino and you get a little bit further each time.

It probably wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that this can become tedious very quickly. This is where Hades obliterated the old-fashioned rules and came up with something fresh, a bit like Mafia Casino.

You see, Hades isn’t just about action, it combines compelling storytelling with the old roguelike genre and with each death, each restart, it rewards you with new bits of story.

The World of Hades

Ever wondered what it would be like if Hades himself were your father and the Olympians your distant relatives? This is exactly the role you’ll play in the game.

You become Zagreus, son of Hades, prince of the infamous underworld from the Greek myths, a young man who’s had enough of his toxic father’s shenanigans and the grim surroundings of his home, the literal hell, according to Greek mythology.

Your goal is to escape the underworld, get to the surface and find out what happened to your mother. Of course, just like at Royalsea Casino, success doesn’t come without a challenge.

En route to the surface, you’ll encounter multiple enemies hellbent on stopping you for various reasons and they won’t make your life easy. This is where your relatives come into play: the famous Olympians.

Fascinating Characters

Escaping hell is an arduous task, even if you are the son of a god. You need luck on your side in most aspects of life whether it is Mafia Casino or a videogame, and you need the aid of some powerful figures too.

In Hades you will be assisted by none other than the most famous Olympians. They constantly interact with you, encourage you, and most importantly, support you with their boons. These boons grant you different powers, depending on what the Olympian you choose represents.

This is where psychology appears in the game. Let’s say you go with Ares’s boons. He is the god of war, so naturally, he will grant you destructive powers.

However, you may choose Athena’s blessings, the goddess of wisdom, who offers you a tactical, more intelligent approach to the game.

You might be a fan of Dionysus though, he will strike your enemies with hangovers and other poisonous curses. Whoever you choose, it will say something about the kind of person you are. Much like your tactical approach at Royalsea Casino.

Fascinating Characters

The Psychology of Hades

There is no right or wrong way when it comes to completing the game. You might be an impatient type who prefers action, massive damage and wiping out enemies in the blink of an eye.

Ares, Dionysus, Artemis and Poseidon grant you these abilities, so if you prefer to go with their boons, there’s a good chance you’re the straightforward type.

However, Aphrodite, Athena, Demeter and Zeus represent a patient, more strategic style of play, but this isn’t just because of their in-game characteristics.

If you’ve never been interested in Greek mythology, Hades will probably change that. The way it represents the Olympians is extremely accurate and the myths behind the characters might tell more about you than you would think.

Say, you chose Poseidon and Athena as your helpers, destruction and strategy. There is a vast background story in the form of myths about these two and their relation to one another. And their relation to you as a person.

The Reasons to Try Hades

You probably enjoy taking your chances in videogames or at Mafia Casino and you crave the thrill of unpredictability that comes with the experience. This is part of what this game can offer.

It can also offer you countless hours of entertainment, exploration, compelling storytelling and a somewhat weird, but ultimately loveable alternative family in the form of the Olympians. Whichever tickles your fancy – just give it a try.
