This financial boost will support the creation and upcoming release of MetaDOS. This innovative game combines exciting battle royale action with a novel idea where “Time-as-currency.” The alpha version of MetaDOS is currently available on Steam, with the official release planned for May.
Anh Le, who is both the COO and a founder of DOS Labs, talked about how MetaDOS came to be: “We started our adventure 12 years ago with Captain Strike, the initial mobile shooter game to quickly attract 1 million players in just two months.
Taking inspiration from Counter-Strike, this game was a stepping stone to our current skills. In 2017, we introduced Bullet Strike, among the first mobile games in the battle royale genre. Today, we're exploring new territory with MetaDOS, which operates entirely on blockchain technology.”
MetaDOS brings in innovative elements that allow players to collectively decide on the game's direction. Thanks to blockchain technology, players can own their digital items and money, breaking free from the constraints of usual gaming environments.
MetaDOS leads the way in an economy focused on cosmetics, offering items such as skins, animations for defeating opponents, music sets, and art to improve the gaming experience without affecting fairness. It works with leading esports groups to organize exciting competitions.
Different from other Web3 games that depend only on NFTs, MetaDOS merges traditional web2 and modern web3 ways of making money. This approach supports long-lasting ways to earn money, moving past temporary fads.
DOS Labs is working on DOS Chain, a part of the Avalanche Subnet, aiming to offer a smooth experience with no gas fees. Transactions will be almost instant, making MetaDOS appealing to fans of both web2 and web3.
The MetaDOS team includes experienced professionals who previously worked at video game companies. Together, they have worked on more than 100 well-known game series, which have been downloaded over a billion times around the world.
Anh Le highlighted the focus on quality and the experience of users. “DOS Labs creates DOS (Decentralised Operating System) for both players and game creators joining Web3. Our goal is to make blockchain gaming accessible to everyone.”
With financial backers behind the project for more than two years, Anh along with co-founder and CEO Quang, are ready to launch MetaDOS on various platforms—PC, Mobile, and Consoles—introducing a fresh phase of battle royale games.
