With a banger game sequel like Borderlands 3, there are many things that are added to the game. These include maps, modes etc. And many new players often get confused about them.

Normal Mode

The Normal mode is not an easy mode and enemies in this mode will hurt you pretty bad. You should play this mode if you have some knowledge of the game. Normal Difficulty mode is like the hard version of the game.

Easier Mode

As the name suggests, the easier mode is for beginners and enemies in this mode are a little kind. You get the same loot as the normal mode, there is no affect of difficulty on loot. You should try this mode if you are a beginner.

Mayhem Mode

Other than the Normal and Easier mode. There exists a Mayhem mode in the game. It is a cool mode where you can change your difficulty according to your need. But you can only use this mode after completing the story if the game. You should definitely try this mode if you have finished the story.

Group Modes

Group mode in the game affect loot and you get loot according to the mode you play in.

Coopetition 

This group mode will distribute the loot among the players and the vault hunters can decide with each other about the loot items.

Cooperation

In this mode, only you will get loot that is Instanced to you and unique. Other players will not see it but if you want to share it with them you can pick it up and then drop it for them.
